Durant's monologue in the last quarters of the games began their function. A pair of free throws from Oklahoma put the home team seven points down (78-85) with 6:28 remaining. Oklahoma se llevó el primer juego/Oklahoma took the first game

La primera final tenía el duelo más esperado, LeBron James vs. Kevin Durant, terminó con victoria del equipo de Durant. Miami dominó la primera mitad de la mano de James pero una gran segunda mitad por parte de Oklahoma le permitió llevarse el partido. A pesar de que James superó su récord personal de puntos (25 vs. San Antonio [J3 y J4 en 2007]) en un partido de Finales con 30, el Heat no pudo mantener la ventaja temprana en los dos primeros periodos.

The first Finals Game had the most anticipated duel, LeBron James vs. Kevin Durant. The match ended with victory of Durant’ team. Miami dominated the first half by the hands of James but a great second half by Oklahoma, allowed  him to take the game. Although James beat his personal record for points (25 vs. San Antonio [G3 and G4 in 2007]) in a Finals game with 30, the Heat could not hold the early lead taken in the first two periods.

El juego comenzaba con el ritmo de Miami. A 8:23, el Heat tomaba una diferencia de 8 (2-10) con dos triples de Shane Battier. Pero con dos tiros desde detrás del arco de Durant ponía a Oklahoma a 2 (8-10). Igualmente, los Thunder  no estaban firmes en defensa principalmente en las ayudas en el poste. Los ataques hacia el aro de Miami terminaban en canastas embocadas. Así, el visitante se alejaba a 10 (10-20) a 5:26 para el final del primer cuarto. Oklahoma began to adjust the defense but on offense was erratic. In more than four minutes, both teams scored only 4 baskets combined. The game stood for Miami but by the minimum (57-58) with 7:48 to the end of the third quarter. Eric Spoelstra called timeout. The visitor turned to off (66-71) by the hands of LeBron. But Westbrook appeared in the final minutes of the period for Oklahoma and they got up on the scoreboard (74-73).

Oklahoma put up 89-83 in the absence of 5:49. Miami was very confused. James had the ball, Wade did not attack and Bosh threw from three points. The Heat did everything backwards. The home team was taking off to 10 (93-83) at 3:35. James and Wade cut the drought, but Durant and Westbrook were untreatable. So, Oklahoma City Thunder took the first game of the NBA Finals by 105-94.

Esta final juntará a los dos mejores jugadores de la actualidad. James es tres veces MVP, incluyendo esta temporada. También será la tercera final para el alero de Miami Heat. Durant es el goleador de lás últimas tres temporadas de la NBA. Además fue el MVP del All-Star celebrado en Orlando. Para Durant es su primera aparición en las Finales de la NBA.

This final will bring together the two best players actually. James is 3-time MVP, including this season. It will also be the third NBA Final for the Miami Heat forward. Análisis previo de la final de la NBA/Preliminary analysis of NBA finals

No se si es la final más esperada. Por rendimiento en toda la temporada, San Antonio Spurs venía con un nivel de juego superlativo. Pero el talento de Oklahoma los eliminó. Por el lado del Este, la lesión de Derrick Rose le allanó el camino a Miami Heat, que pasó sobresaltos en la Final de Conferencia frente a Boston Celtics pero el sexto juego de visitante lo jugó con mucha autoridad.

It won't be the most anticipated NBA Finals. For performance throughout the season, San Antonio Spurs came with a superlative level of play. But the talent of Oklahoma's removed them. On the Eastern side, Derrick Rose's injury paved the way to Miami Heat, who went smoothly in the Conference Finals against Boston Celtics but the visitor's sixth game was played with great authority.

Si se analiza nombre por nombre la serie es pareja. El quinteto inicial de Oklahoma es Westbrook-Sefolosha-Durant-Ibaka-Perkins con el aporte del mejor sexto hombre, James Harden. En Miami, la última alineación fue Chalmers-Wade-Battier-James-Haslem y entrando cada vez más en ritmo, el recuperado Chris Bosh.

If the seriers is analyzed name by name, it is even. The starting lineup of Oklahoma is Westbrook-Sefolosha-Durant-Ibaka-Perkins with input from the best sixth man, James Harden. In Miami, the last alignment was Chalmers-Wade-Battier-James-Haslem and entering more and more in rhythm, the recovered Chris Bosh.

Si se toma en cuenta estas alineaciones existen muy pequeñas diferencias. Los dos equipos tienen un alero anotador como James y Durant. Westbrook no es un base convencional pero Oklahoma tiene un escolta anotador como Harden y Miami tiene a Wade. Oklahoma City Thunder es un equipo en progreso constante. Desde que la franquicia se mudó a esa ciudad, la producción fue en mejoría. En la temporada 08/09 no alcanzó los Playoffs. Al año siguiente quedó eliminado en Semifinales de Conferencia contra los campeones de ese año: Los Angeles Lakers. Y en la 10/11 también perdió contra el campeón (Dallas Mavericks) pero esa vez en la Final de Conferencia. Este año acaba de llegar a las Finales de la NBA eliminando a San Antonio Spurs, que tuvo el mejor récord de la temporada. Además eliminó en las fases previas a sus verdugos de años anteriores. Pero el dato más relevante aún es que dejó en el camino a 3 de los últimos 4 campeones. El restante es Boston, que está 3-2 en la serie frente a Miami.

San Antonio manejaba a su antojo el ritmo del partido y Oklahoma no encontraba respuestas en ninguno de los dos costados de la cancha. El visitante sacaba una diferencia de 18 (30-48) a 7:14 para el final de la primera mitad. Parecía que los Thunder estaban jugando mal pero la realidad era que los Spurs estaban en nivel superlativo, cuidando la bola en ofensiva y muy certero principalmente con el tiro exterior. Oklahoma dio muestra de carácter. Un equipo joven supo doblegar a un equipo curtido de batallas como San Antonio en su propia casa. No alcanzó con la sobresaliente tarea de Manu Ginóbili. Además, el equipo local sufrió muchas pérdidas (21) y pagó muy caro esos errores.

In less than a minute, Serge Ibaka was replaced by committing two fouls.  Thunder were not comfortable shooting. The first shot scored by the visitor was a dunk by Nick Collison at 8:37 to the end of the first quarter. San Antonio took a difference of 7 (15-8) for the contribution of Ginobili and Boris Diaw. But in Oklahoma, Russell Westbrook starting to get into a rhythm and matching the game to the point that the visitor was up for the first time (17-19) at 2:47. Duncan continued charging the offense and put the Spurs to 2 (101-103) at 50 seconds. But on visitor' offense, the "Beard" Harden nailed a 3-pointer, devastating to the aspirations of the home team. A 28 seconds, Oklahoma took 5 (101-106) and sentenced the game.
