Pero el dato más relevante aún es que dejó en el camino a 3 de los últimos 4 campeones. El restante es Boston, que está 3-2 en la serie frente a Miami.

San Antonio manejaba a su antojo el ritmo del partido y Oklahoma no encontraba respuestas en ninguno de los dos costados de la cancha. El visitante sacaba una diferencia de 18 (30-48) a 7:14 para el final de la primera mitad. Parecía que los Thunder estaban jugando mal pero la realidad era que los Spurs estaban en nivel superlativo, cuidando la bola en ofensiva y muy certero principalmente con el tiro exterior. El ejemplo de la efectividad del tiro de 3 era Stephen Jackson, que llevaba 4/4 en triples. Tres pérdidas para San Antonio en la primera mitad. Ahí pasaba la clave. Los Spurs se iban al descanso del entretiempo ganado por 15 (48-63).

Oklahoma dio muestra de carácter. Un equipo joven supo doblegar a un equipo curtido de batallas como San Antonio en su propia casa. No alcanzó con la sobresaliente tarea de Manu Ginóbili. Además, el equipo local sufrió muchas pérdidas (21) y pagó muy caro esos errores.

El partido en la previa era duro. Y así lo fue también. Se destacó un jugador que venía con números discretos. Manu Ginóbili promediaba hasta hoy 11,6 puntos en 26,8 minutos. Hoy, con 26 puntos en 34 minutos, condujo a San Antonio a una victoria fundamental para comenzar arriba la serie. Fue 101 a 98 a Oklahoma City Thunder.

Spurs-Thunder, ¿la Final anticipada?/Spurs-Thunder, the Advance Finals?

Esta noche comienza la Final de la Conferencia del Oeste entre San Antonio Spurs y Oklahoma City Thunder. Son los dos equipos de mejor rendimiento en estos Playoffs.  Es la experiencia contra la juventud. El equipo que gane esta serie va a tener muchas posibilidades de ser el campeón de la NBA.

San Antonio continúa imparable/San Antonio continues unstoppable

Experiencia. Calma. Frialdad. Consistencia. Todo eso tiene San Antonio. Lleva 18 partidos seguidos ganados y es su segunda barrida consecutiva. 4-0 a Utah y ahora 4-0 a Los Angeles Clippers. Fue el partido más complicado de San Antonio en estos Playoffs pero lo supo cerrar bien. 

Experience. Calm. Chill. Consistency. All that is San Antonio. They won 18 consecutive matches and it is his second consecutive sweep. 4-0 to Utah and now 4-0 to Los Angeles Clippers. It was the most difficult match of San Antonio in these playoffs but they knew close properly. 

En el comienzo del juego los Clippers llevaban su ofensiva a la zona pintada. Los Spurs comenzaban con su pick-and-roll muy aceitado pero el local se despegaba por 5 (9-4) a 8:10 para el final del primer cuarto. Muchos decían ¿donde está Manu? Hoy apareció en la serie frente a Utah aunque San Antonio no haya necesitado más protagonismo de la estrella argentina en la serie porque tiene un equipo muy bien balanceado. La banca cumple un rol importante y ese rendimiento se debe a la confianza que les da Popovich. San Antonio barrió la serie 4-0 derrotando esta noche a Utah 87-81. Ahora, los Spurs esperan al ganador de Memphis-L.A. Clippers.
