El partido en la previa era duro. Y así lo fue también. Se destacó un jugador que venía con números discretos. Manu Ginóbili promediaba hasta hoy 11,6 puntos en 26,8 minutos. Hoy, con 26 puntos en 34 minutos, condujo a San Antonio a una victoria fundamental para comenzar arriba la serie. Fue 101 a 98 a Oklahoma City Thunder. 

The match was hard in the previous. And so it was too. It featured a player who came with discrete numbers. Manu Ginobili averaged, until this game, 11.6 points in 26.8 minutes. Today, with 26 points in 34 minutes, drove San Antonio to a important victory to start up the series. It was 101 to 98 to Oklahoma City Thunder.

Al comienzo del partido, se empezó a destacar un actor secundario. Thabo Sefolosha, con una defensa sobria (4 robos) y con 5 puntos, le daba una ventaja de 3 (10-13) a Oklahoma a falta de 5:53 para el final del primer parcial. El cuarto robo del suizo se lo propinó a Manu Ginóbili. A partir de ahí, el escolta argentino se iba a enojar. Los últimos siete puntos de San Antonio en el cuarto fueron anotados por Manu, incluyendo un gran triple contra la chicharra para cerrar el primer parcial: San Antonio 24-18 Oklahoma City.

Pero volvían los titulares de los Thunder y emparejaban el juego en 31. En Oklahoma no aparecía James Harden. La “Barba” llevaba 1/8 en cancha. El partido continuaba parejo y habían muchos errores. Muchas pérdidas por parte de San Antonio. Y Oklahoma aprovechaba para irse al descanso arriba por 1 (46-47). Kevin Durant era el goleador del juego con 13. Bien acompañado por Russell Westbrook con 9, al igual que Derek Fisher. En el local se destacaba Ginóbili con 10. Pero apareció el francés Tony Parker con 5 puntos consecutivos y acercaba a San Antonio a 2 (52-54). El partido se mantenía parejo en ese segmento. Peró apareció Harden en el juego, principalmente rompiendo con ataques hacia el aro. San Antonio estaba apurado y no encontraba la forma de quebrar una buena defensa de los Thunder, que ganaba el tercer cuarto 24-16 y sacaba una diferencia de 9 (62-71).

Gregg Popovich said that in a timeout. And players heeded him. Oklahoma scoring only through free throws. A double and a foul of Ginobili helped San Antonio to get 10 (94-84) at 1:57 to go. Spurs maintained their characteristic calm and took the first game despite some 3-pointers of the Thunder on the end. The great figure was Manu Ginobili, who scored 26 points with 9/14 on field goal. But the leading scorer in the game was Durant with 27. The next game is on Tuesday again at AT&T Center in San Antonio.
